Sitecore MVP Summit – Day 1

New Orleans, also known as ‘The Big Easy’ is the place where the Sitecore MVP Summit kicked off at Monday 28th of September in New Orleans.

From over 26 countries over 90 Sitecore MVP’s flew in, to take part in the best conference of 2015, in terms of Sitecore conferences.

My trip went from Amsterdam to Atlanta to New Orleans. And I guess also Mark van Aalst & Pieter Brinkman took the same trip 😉

I arrived late on Sunday in the afternoon, which gave me some time to explore the French influenced city. Together with Robin Hermanussen who I’m working with at Lukkien we explored the city, took a Natchez steamboat ride on the Missisippi, enjoyed the skyline of New Orleans and the jazz and spend time in the French quarter.

After registering, the welcome reception kicked off at 7pm. What a great evening, finally being able to speak to people in real life, that I have connected with through Twitter, the community forum or on slack, but not have met on previous Sitecore events. Just to name a few: Akshay Sura, Sean Holmesby, Sheetal Jain, Alan Coates, Bo Breitling, Chris Williams.

But also a reunion with people like Sean Kearney, Corey Caplette, Mark Stiles, Mike Reynolds, Anders Laub, Stephen Pope and probably more people I talked to. A very great evening around the pool in the open air of the Le Meridien hotel, with good conversations and interesting discussions. The evening ended on the famous Bourbon street.
