What a great idea to host a Hackerspace at Sitecore Symposium 2025. The setup, the atmosphere, and the hands-on format all worked really well — but I’ll be honest, 60 minutes felt very short 😅. Still, it was a fun challenge.

Huge thanks to Rob Earlam, Bart Plasmeijer, Sebastian Winter, Anna Bründel, Christian Hahn and Krassi Eneva for running the session. You kept things moving, made the environment easy to work in, and created a space where people could experiment without overthinking it. It was also great to see how far XM Cloud’s extensibility has come; having access to the Marketplace SDKs, the Blok Design System, and MCPs made it easy to get something working quickly.

I ended up building a small Sitecore AI Meme App, with a special thanks to Eric Stine for unintentionally becoming the model in it 😄.

Special thanks as well to my colleagues at uxbee for supporting me and making it possible to participate in Orlando, USA — and to be part of both Sitecore Symposium and the Sitecore MVP Summit.

All in all, it was a fun session with a good mix of learning, building, and connecting with others who are exploring the same Marketplace SDK like I am. If the Hackerspace returns next year, I’ll definitely sign up again. Oh, and….. did I tell you I won 😉 ?

Happy Sitecore-ing!
